NetraKumbh 2025 –
Event Overview

On the sacred grounds of Prayagraj, during the Mahakumbh 2025, NetraKumbh unfolded as a massive public health initiative to provide free and accessible eye care. Rooted in the ethos of Sanatan Dharma and inspired by the motto ‘May we see this divine creation for a hundred years’, this campaign screened over 2.3 lakh individuals, distributed over 1.6 lakh spectacles and referred over 17,000 for further eye surgeries.

To address the pressing need for eye health in India by organizing comprehensive eye check-ups, distributing spectacles and offering referrals for surgeries during the Mahakumbh pilgrimage.

Future Partnership Possibilities

NetraKumbh 2025 created avenues for future partnerships with multiple regional and national players in eye care, training and outreach who expressed interest in hosting or supporting similar camps nationwide.

On-Ground Workflow

The camps operated with meticulous coordination. Each morning began with team briefings and spiritual invocation. Screening started at 9:00 AM and ran till 5:30 PM (sometimes till 8 PM), achieving a minimum of 1,000 screenings daily per team.

Recognition & Visitors

The initiative received widespread appreciation, including from the Prime Minister and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. It was celebrated for setting up a fully functional, hospital-grade facility amid the spiritual setting of the Mahakumbh.
